Located in the serene Adur Valley near Twineham Village in West Sussex, Twineham Grange Farm offers six exclusive, eco-friendly boutique homes, each spanning approximately 3,539 sq ft (328 m²) in a gated, luxury development blending contemporary design with countryside charm.
Mech-Elec Group Ltd was tasked with designing and installing an integrated system encompassing cutting-edge security measures, robust digital infrastructure, and discreet luxury audio systems. Every element was designed to blend seamlessly into the homes’ architecture while providing practical functionality and the capacity for future upgrades.
Project Overview
Security & Smart Home Automation
Security was a top priority for the client, and our design ensured that protection would be both comprehensive and unobtrusive. We installed a Grade 2 PD6662 hard-wired intruder alarm system, chosen for its reliability and compliance with current security standards. Access to the gated community was enhanced with a video intercom system, while communal CCTV coverage and coordinated external lighting provided both safety and visual appeal. Each home was pre-wired to accommodate up to six cameras, allowing residents to expand their surveillance coverage easily in the future.
App-based remote monitoring and automation give homeowners the ability to manage alarms, view camera feeds, and control access points from anywhere in the world. To safeguard these digital capabilities, the systems were integrated with a secure network architecture to protect against cyber threats.
Structured Data & Connectivity
In a development of this calibre, a strong and reliable data network is as essential as any other utility. We designed and installed a structured cabling system with dual outlets in key rooms, all neatly routed to a centralised control cabinet. The network was built with redundancy in mind, ensuring resilience and minimising downtime. Boosted fibre broadband was incorporated to deliver high-speed internet capable of supporting multiple users, high-definition streaming, and smart home management without performance loss. This infrastructure was also future-ready, capable of accommodating emerging IoT devices and the next generation of automation technologies.
Premium In-Home Audio & Entertainment
The entertainment system at Twineham Grange Farm was designed to enhance everyday living without compromising the clean, modern interior design. We specified and installed Sonos architectural in-ceiling speakers in the main living, dining, and entertainment areas. These discreet speakers deliver premium sound quality while remaining virtually invisible within the space. The open-plan layouts benefit from integrated surround-sound capabilities, creating immersive experiences for movies, music, or entertaining guests. The homes were also fitted with AV wiring infrastructure to support satellite services, smart TVs, streaming devices, and future upgrades such as home cinema systems.
Scalability & Future-Proofing
A key aspect of our approach was ensuring the system design could evolve with the homeowner’s needs. We built in the capacity for additional smart home controls, including lighting, heating, and automated blinds. Provisions were made for outdoor entertainment systems, with wiring in place for garden and terrace speakers. The security network was designed for easy expansion, making it simple to add more cameras or sensors without disruptive retrofitting.
